Web Safe Fonts

The following fonts, divided by families, are safe to use on the Web in that they are supported by Macs, Windows and Unix/Linux machines. Other fonts may not be on computers viewing a page and therefore will not display even if the HTML or CSS defines them.

To ensure that the font you define is displayed as you want, limit yourself to the use of the following fonts.

Each font name is followed by a pangram (a sentence which uses every letter of the alphabet at least once).

Sans-serif

Arial
The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.

Arial Narrow
A short brimless felt hat barely blocks out the sound of a Celtic violin.

Arial Black
My faxed joke won a pager in the cable TV quiz show.

Trebuchet
